Homewood Teams promote a fun learning environment where participants improve their racing, all-mountain, and technical skiing skills while establishing responsible habits and building lifelong friendships.

2017-18 Supersliders

(ages 5-12)

Single day only, Saturday OR Sunday
The Supersliders program is for families looking for flexibility and emphasizing skill development in a fun environment. Supersliders also serves as a building block for the Development Team. The program is only offered as a full day on Saturday OR Sunday and is an 8-week program that spans over 10 weeks running from 9 am to 2:30 pm

Minimum Requirements: Proof of age required. Appropriately fitted boots, bindings, skis/board, helmet, and attire. Poles are not required. Skiers and riders should be confident in basic fundamentals with the ability to ski or ride in control on harder beginner runs with basic turns and stops; comfortable riding chairlifts with some assistance.  Not designed to be a first-year program. Beginners should start with our 3-pack through the Children’s Snowsports School. Minimum of 5 sign ups needed. Snowboard option available under the above requirements.

2017-18 Development Team

(ages 5-17)

This program is designed to improve skiing skills and move into the next level of high-performance skiing and racing. In addition to all-mountain skiing, participants will receive an introduction to racing with gate training. Participation in one (1) Tahoe League race is encouraged. Development Team meets on both Saturdays, Sundays and during holidays, running from 9 am to 3 pm.

Minimum Requirements: Proof of age required. Athletes must be independent and able to ski the entire mountain in most conditions; including the ability to load/unload all chair lifts safely and without assistance. Use appropriate equipment for ability that is properly maintained. Minimum of 5 sign ups needed. First year families/athletes must make an appointment for a 1-hour on-hill ski assessment before first training day; parent must attend Annual Parent Meeting in December. Full day attendance is expected for all athletes when present. Snowboard option available under the above requirements.

2017-18 Junior Coach

(ages 14-19)

NEW for the 2017-18 seasons the Junior Coach program provides an opportunity to learn what it takes to become a great coach! Minimum age is 14 years old and requires two seasons of experience as an athlete with our Development or Competition level ski/snowboard teams or equivalent program at another resort with a coach’s letter of recommendation. Junior coaches will need to participate at least 3 weekends each month; a season minimum of 20 days. Their role is to ski/ride throughout the season and be a role model to the teams while demonstrating drills and proper technique. At the end of each day, the Junior Coach will spend the final hour of ski/riding with the Head Coach to debrief the day’s experience and practice demonstration tasks that will work them toward attaining professional certifications (PSIA/AASI or USASA). After each season, the participant will receive an evaluation of their technical skill and interpersonal development.

Duration: 9am-4pm
– Junior coaches ski with Head Coach from 3-4pm
– Junior coaches help provide peer-supervision during lunch

Minimum Requirements: Proof of age required. Minimum of 2 sign ups needed. Clean Teams uniform jacket AND appropriate equipment for ability that is properly maintained. Participate 20 days/season. Responsibilities and expectations of being a Junior Coach must be consistently maintained; any departure from these may require re-enrollment as a Development Team athlete, including appropriate tuition. Junior Coaches are expected to role model the Skier Responsibility Code, the 3 Rules of Teams and a positive attitude with appropriate language.
