Below, you will find useful information on how to search for housing. When searching for housing, keep in mind the travel time, especially during the snow storms and holidays. If you plan on taking the bus to work, consider the time it will take to get to the nearest bus stop. Bus routes can be found in the transportation section.
Craigslist
Most will find Craigslist to be the best way to search for housing. Narrow down your search results by searchnig by specific locations (see locations section below).
Search here if you are a group looking to rent an entire home or apartment.
Search here for if you are looking to rent a single room in an shared home.
Search here if you are looking for a temporary or short-term rental.
Other Online Sites
These online sites are good options for temporary housing. Typically, they are used for short-term vacation rentals (up to 2 weeks), but some may consider longer term rentals.

Local Realtors
Local realtors are typically looking for long-term renters (1 year), but some may offer short-term leases (up to 6 months). See links below. For more, do a search for realtors in the Tahoe City and North Lake Tahoe area.
We can post a “room wanted ad” on the HR facebook page. Message Human Resources and let us know what type of housing you’re looking for. Be sure to include specific information such as rent range, location, pets, roommate preference (male or female), shared home, shared room, amenities, etc. Don’t forge to tell us about yourself. Feel free to provide us with your name, age, gender, where you’re relocating from, if you have pets, phone, email, etc. The more information you provide about yourself and the housing you’re seeking, the better!

Motels
If you have not secured housing prior to arriving, a motel is a good option for temporary housing. Some employees have even stayed in motels through the entire season.
