Adult Lessons

Homewood’s Adult Group Lessons cater to beginner and intermediate guests ages 13+. Whether you are brand new to winter sports or want to improve your technical skills and confidence on our uncrowded slopes, our instructors are eager to help you reach the next level.

Our top to bottom beginner trails allow skiers and riders who have mastered the basics to enjoy the breathtaking views of Lake Tahoe from the peak.

2022-23 Learn to Ski & Snowboard Group Lesson Package

This lesson package is for first-timers, those who have never been skiing/snowboarding before. This lesson is offered in the AM only from 10 am to 12:30 pm.

Designed for first-timers who have never been on snow before, this lesson will focus on basic ski/snowboarding principles including an understanding of edging and how to stop on a slope. 

Adult Learn to Ski Group Lesson packages include a half-day morning lesson, all-day equipment rental and an all-day beginner (surface) lift ticket. Package does not include a helmet rental.

2022-23 Micro Group Beginner / Intermediate Ski & Snowboard Lesson Package

This lesson package is for beginners/intermediates, those who have been skiing/snowboarding before and are looking to improve their skills. This lesson is offered in the PM only from 1:30 pm to 4:00 pm and includes an all-day all-mountain lift ticket.

Receive personalized instruction with small-sized group lessons of four people or less! Designed for beginners and intermediates who have tried skiing/riding before and are looking to brush up on skills and develop a solid feeling of control.

This Adult Micro Group Lesson Package includes a half-day afternoon lesson, all-day equipment rental and all-day all-mountain lift ticket. (Helmets are not included in this package, but are available to rent on-site at an additional fee.)

Arriving for your lesson

Step 1: Parking – All Adult Lessons must have their lift ticket and go through the process of picking up their ski/snowboard rentals prior to checking in for their lessons. Please arrive at Homewood no later than 30 minutes prior to the lesson start time for mid-weekdays and at least 1 hour to 1.5 hours prior on weekends/holidays.

All lessons will meet at Homewood’s North Base (located at 5145 West Lake Blvd.). Homewood offers convenient parking right at the base of the North Lodge. Note that parking reservations are required and can be made online before your visit.

Step 2: Pick Up Your Lift Ticket – After you’ve parked head over to our North Lodge. Pick up your lift ticket information at one of the self-serving kiosks or ticket windows using the QR code below.

Step 3: Pick Up Your Rentals – Follow the signs to the rentals entrance, located on the east side of the North Lodge building.

Step 4: Check-in for your lesson – After picking up your lift ticket and rentals all lesson participants should check in with Ski School at the Ski & Snowboard School building (Little Red School House) behind the North Lodge 10 minutes prior to the lesson start time.

On busy days we may have an additional location to check-in which is located near the ski school area in front of the rental shop.

We recommend coming prepared with warm, waterproof pants and a jacket, mittens or gloves, one pair of warm socks, and either sunglasses or goggles.

Lesson Cancellation Policy

Credit cards are charged at the time of the reservation. There will be a $100 charge for cancellations made after your reservation has been made. Any cancellation made less than 7 days before the lesson time will be charged the full amount, regardless of weather conditions. A no-call/no-show will be charged the full amount. Reservations canceled after the start of the lesson will be considered a no-show.
